Services
Reference
The Agricultural Information Center (AIC) welcomes all reference questions, including requests for help locating information items, even those not owned by the University of Kentucky. We welcome questions about facts and statistics, including how to find them. We are also always willing to provide research guidance for our databases and journal collection. Some typical examples of reference questions include:
- How do I access UK Library databases from home?
- I need basic information about plant diseases. Do you have a resource that will have this information?
- I need newspaper articles about tobacco company lawsuits. Where do I get some?
- How do I open a .pdf (Acrobat Reader) file?
- I am looking for statistics put out by the USDA. Where can I find them?
Circulation
Document Delivery
The University of Kentucky Library Document Delivery Unit provides Copy Express, a fee-based service, to students with permanent or temporary disabilities and also to UK faculty and staff. The service offers the convenience of acquiring reproductions from our libraries' collections. Some restrictions apply: Copyright Warning: The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order, if, in its judgment fulfillment of the order would involve violation of the copyright law. There is a limit of 10% or one chapter from a book, and one article per journal issue.
What kind of reproductions will the service deliver?
Reproductions (excluding material from Special Collections) of articles from journals, portions of books or proceedings including those held in non-circulating reference collections and copies from non-print resources.
How do I make a request for the reproductions?
Electronic forms are available below.
How will my copies be delivered?
There are two options for the delivery of reproductions: They may be mailed to a campus address or sent in pdf format to the address indicated on the request form.
What will I be charged for the service?
Fees for service are:
$.15 per page reproduced from print
$.25 per page reproduced from microform
Fees will be reviewed yearly to assure compliance with the US Federal Cost Account Standards and may be revised to meet those standards.
