— In Web of Science refine your results to Document Type "Review."
— Browse Young Ref stacks (general in West wing and Ready behind desk) / books shelved by Library of Congress Classification Outline
— Here are some new encyclopedias / to find your subject use the Topic facets bottom left.
— In your catalog search add the keyword encyclopedias (or look for this subdivision if you are browsing the subject index).

— Search Google Scholar.
— To get to the texts, click either the "Get Text @ UK" or the "Other UK means of access" links / You will get the Get Text @ UK menus: look there for links to InfoKat (and ILLiad, if need be).
— If off-campus, set your Scholar Preferences to UK.
— Start reading your sources.
— Overviews (listed above) identify the major sources: be sure to read some of them.
— In the stacks find the section for your philosopher or writer / look for critical editions of your texts / look around for new monographs.
— Go backwards: if you've got a good source follow its footnotes / Go forwards: if you've got a good source put its citation into Google Scholar and click the "Cited by" link.
