The essence of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Diversity Education is its annual calendar of high quality cultural/educational programs consisting of lectures, concerts, theatrical and dance performances, film and video screenings as well as exhibits and workshops. Its program history has included campus visits and presentations by scores of artists, speakers, activists and intellectuals the likes of Muhammad Ali, Maya Angelou, Spike Lee, Edward James Olmos, Alex Haley, Ruby Dee, Ron Dellums, the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Randall Robinson, Nikki Giovanni and many, many more. These programs have enriched the university experience for thousands of students, faculty, staff and members of our regional community.
