I left Amsterdam early morning and took the train to Maastricht. It was a fairly long trip for the Nederlands and there were several stops along the way. This was a very interesting and picturesque town. I'd certainly go back.

After Maastricht, I took a stoptrain to Namur via Liege. I especially enjoyed looking at the countryside and the geology along the river route. At Namur, I took another stoptrain to Luxembourg City traveling through the Ardennes. After walking around the city, I boarded the stoptrain to Namur, transferred to the train to Brussels Midi and transferred once more to the train to Amsterdam. This last train made some unexpected (by me) detours to 'S-Hertogenbosch and Utrecht before arriving at Amsterdam. It was a long day!
