Focus Watershed: Clarks Run of Dix River

Building on efforts from previous years, Boyle County students will be conducting educational outreach to fellow students, community groups and watershed residents. Using KRA watershed grant funds, they will purchase a watershed demonstration table to show hydromorphological concepts, such as streambank erosion, the benefits of maintaining riparian (streamside) vegetation, and nonpoint source (runoff) pollution. Over the past four years, Boyle County students have regularly collected Water Watch data at multiple sampling sites along Clarks Run. They will begin to examine any trends show by their water quality data and present these findings along with basic watershed concepts.
