Focus Watershed: Dix River

The focus of this project is the Dix River Watershed in Garrard and Lincoln Counties.  Project participants plan to build on past studies of the watershed through continued Water Watch sampling of the river, presentations of sampling results to various civic organizations, and the hosting of a Logan-Hubble Park Environmental Day.  The Environmental Day is a learning experience for local elementary school students to study aquatic ecology.  Local high school students will be assisted by representatives from various state agencies in educating the participants about water quality, streambank erosion, and litter and flooding impacts.
