Invitation to the Meeting

COME TO LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY!

The Midwest Chapter/MLA and the Southern Chapter/MLA invite you to a joint annual meeting.The joint meeting will be held at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Lexington, Kentucky from October 10-13, 1998. Please note:  October is a busy time in Lexington with horse racing, sporting events and the fall colors. Hotels fill up very quickly. Please make your travel plans early to guarantee that you will have hotel accomodations.

PROGRAM

The joint meeting will focus on how the many aspects of today's environment and the past interweave to provide a glimpse of the future. The program will include plenary sessions, sharing sessions, hot topics, contributed papers, and a centennial session. The preliminary program with registration materials will be mailed to members during early summer 1998.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Continuing Education classes will be offered on October 10, 11 and 13, 1998. These classes will be developed based on the results of a Continuing Education Preferences Survey of the 1997 annual meeting attendees. MLA credit will be available.

UNLIKE ANY OTHER . . .

Lexington is a lively, hospitable city located in the heart of Kentucky's spectacularly beautiful horse country. Leisure activities available this weekend include racing at Keeneland, the Kentucky Guild of Artists & Craftsmen Fall Fair, University of Kentucky football, and nearby Shaker Village. Dinner on Sunday evening will be held at the world famous Kentucky Horse Park.

HOTEL INFORMATION

The Radisson Plaza Hotel will be the site of the conference. Special room rates have been arranged for the joint meeting. Single through quadruple rooms are available at $95.00 plus tax. Since October is a very busy tourist season for Lexington, hotel rooms throughout the city are limited. Early registration with the conference hotel is highly recommended.
