Weaving Our Past into Our Future
Dan Gahl, Executive Director and Director of Clinical Affairs, Alliance Partners,
Cincinnati, Ohio
Historians tell us that by looking back we can look forward. Demographers and actuaries tell us that statistical trends can predict our future. Psychics and mystics tell us they can predict our futures (usually at little more than $2.95 per minute!). Today we will play historian, we will consult demographers and actuaries, and then together we will prognosticate what the future holds for us. Most important though, we will look at how we prepare ourselves for success by using/acquiring the skills necessary to successfully "weave our future."
Threads of the Past
Jean Demas (moderator), T. Mark Hodges, Logan Ludwig, Ken Robichaux
MLA Update
Jacqueline D. Doyle, President of the Medical Library Association
Join our distinguished panel of representatives for the Southern and Midwest chapters and our vendor community as they weave the threads of our past into a tapestry that makes a bold statement of who we are today and who we hope to be in the future. The panel discussion will be followed by an update from MLA President, Jacque Doyle.
Quality Customer Service--You CAN
Get There From Here
Barbara White, Lexington Community College, University of Kentucky
Quality customer service is a perennial topic in health sciences libraries. All of us, regardless of our particular roles in an institution, play a major role in providing customer service. Come find out how we can all achieve the same goal of quality customer service.
We'll provide the box lunch and the vendors will provide the latest news on their hottest products. Enjoy a sandwich with fruit, chips, and a cookie while you listen to the various vendors update us on their products and services.
