Our 3rd annual conference features nationally- and internationally-recognized authors and presenters along side local practitioners delivering full-day pre-conference sessions on July 22, and conference breakout sessions on July 23-24. The focus this year is on practical and applicable curricular, instructional, and leadership strategies that have been effectively applied in schools and classrooms. Teachers and administrators of all grade levels and content areas are encouraged to attend.

This two-day session will showcase strategies that increase student engagement and promote critical thinking skills - both of which are essential to student's conceptual understanding of content. Topics include how to explain the relationship between engagement and cognitive load, analyze a lesson to determine the degree of cognitive engagement of students, and integrate techniques into daily lesson plans and unit plans that result in cognitive engagement of all students.
