Goals

  • Increase student achievement on identified NGSS through the integration of engineering, cross-cutting concepts, and science/engineering practices (using science modeling).
  • Increase student achievement on science PLAN and ACT through effective integration of content literacy standards with respect to identified science content.
  • Increase capacity within science department.
  • Implement effective instructional practice, as outlined in Characteristics of Highly Effective Teaching and Learning in Science, with a specific focus on planning rigorous and congruent learning experiences. The effectiveness of instruction will be measured by students’ pre/post content gains and analysis of related student work.
