Network for New Math and Science Teachers (NNMST)

Overview & Goals

The Network for New Math and Science Teachers (NNMST) provides teachers with the tools and expertise that will enable them to provide high-quality math and science instruction to their students. The meetings will focus on:

  • Program of Studies and State Curriculum Standards
  • how to create lessons and unit plans
  • targeting known student misconceptions
  • best practice strategies based on current research
  • designing classroom formative and summative assessments
  • improving literacy in math and science
  • incorporating inquiry

Target Audience

New math and science teachers (grades K-12) with 0-5 years experience including teachers with a MAT

Cost

$745 per participant
Includes morning refreshments and lunch, meeting space, facilitator fees, administrative support, and all training materials.

This is the final year of a three-year initiative in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education.
