Aug.
30, 1999 (Lexington, Ky.) For the
second straight year, the University of Kentucky College of Education will offer
Kentuckians a chance to share memories and honor favorite teachers. "Teachers Do
Make a Difference" is the theme of the colleges project, which invites anyone
to submit the name of special teachers who had a positive impact on students. Nominated
teachers will be honored at UKs Singletary Center for the Arts on Oct. 16.
The program follows last years "Teachers Who Made a Difference"
campaign, which resulted in hundreds of retired and active teachers being nominated for
recognition by the college. The initial program was part of the colleges 75th
anniversary celebration.
To nominate a teacher, send his or her name and address, along with a brief description
of the teachers impact on students lives, to the UK College of Education, 103
Dickey Hall, Lexington, KY 40506-0017, by Sept. 15.
