BLACK COMEDY TOUR COMES TO UK

Oct. 11, 1999 – (Lexington, Ky.) –  The Black Comedy Tour with Ricky Harris and Simply Marvelous will come to the University of Kentucky's Memorial Hall Oct. 17.

Harris is an award-winning comedian, director and actor. He won the sixth annual Bay Area Comedy Competition, has been featured on "Showtime at the Apollo" and was host of HBO's "Def Comedy Jam." He also has been featured in major comedy festivals in Montreal and Aspen. He has provided voice work for artists such as Snoop Doggy Dogg, Ice Cube and Cypress Hill. In 1995, he won MTV's Music Video Award for best rap video for directing Snoop's "Doggy Dogg World." He also wrote, starred and directed rap's first mini-movie, "Murder was the Case with Snoop Dogg." He has appeared in movies such as "Father's Day" with Billy Crystal and "Heat!" with Al Pacino and will appear in the upcoming movies "Thick As Thieves" with Alec Baldwin and "Simon Sez" with Dennis Rodman.

Simply Marvelous has been performing stand-up comedy across the country for 13 years, appearing on A&E's "Evening at the Improv," "Showtime at the Apollo" and twice on Black Entertainment Television (BET) and on HBO's "Def Comedy Jam." She also has been a featured performer in the Comic Relief Festival in Vail, Colo. She also holds several acting credits, including "Talkin' Dirty After Dark," "A Class Act" and "House Party 3."
