UK CHEERLEADERS WIN
SIXTH STRAIGHT NATIONAL TITLE

This is UK's 10th national cheerleading champtionship, with titles in 1985, 1987, 1988, 1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000.

Jan. 11, 2000 – (Lexington, Ky.) – The University of Kentucky Cheerleaders won their sixth straight Universal Cheerleading Association national championship in competition held this past weekend at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

Overall, this is the 10th national championship for the UK Cheerleaders (1985, 1987, 1988, 1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000).

In addition, the UK cheerleading duo of senior Brooke Davis (Paintsville, Ky.) and senior Tim Passalacqua (San Diego, Calif.) captured first place in the National Partner Stunt competition.

The UK Cheerleaders are coached by former squad member Saleem Habash, now in his third year as coach.  T. Lynn Williamson is now in his third decade as UK Cheerleader adviser.
