(Lexington, Ky.) -- University
of Kentucky and Lexington Community College students have a new option for paying tuition
and housing/dining fees beginning spring semester 2002. The Installment Payment Plan
option allows students to pay one-third of the semester tuition and housing/dining fees by
the due date printed on the invoice, with the remaining portion to be paid at later dates.
Previously, failure to pay the full tuition and fee
amount prior to the beginning of the semester led to the cancellation of students'

Here are the specifics of the installment
Spring semester 2002 invoices will be mailed
to advance-registered students the week of Nov. 26. One-third of the semester charges must
be paid by Dec. 20.
The next two Installments 50 percent,
then 100 percent of the remaining charges will be invoiced approximately 30 days
and 60 days after the start of classes. The installment plan's enrollment fee ($35 per
semester) will be included in the first installment payment amount.
Additional information, as well as the
enrollment form, will be provided with the first invoice. Students registering in January
also are able to enroll in the payment plan.
UK students may enroll and pay the first
installment by Jan. 24, 2002. LCC students may enroll and pay the first installment by
Jan. 18, 2002.
The plan is not offered for the summer terms,
and previous term balances are ineligible for the installment plan.
Payment, whether in full or by the
Installment Payment Plan, may be made by cash, personal check, cashier's check or money
order. Payment by Visa or MasterCard is accepted only through the UK and LCC VIP line
