The University of Kentucky is hosting its annual fall
National Thoroughbred Round Robin today and Thursday,
and the Kentucky National Henry Clay Tournament Oct.
6-8 on the University of Kentucky campus and at the
Ramada Inn on North Broadway.
The highly renowned tournaments attract the nation’s
very best high school debaters to Lexington each year.
Debaters from the nation's top nine debate teams will
participate in the Round Robin.
Teams
from across the country, from Harvard to Berkeley,
will compete in the Henry Clay debates. This year's
national intercollegiate debate topic calls for the
federal government to make policy changes related
to American Indians.
The
Round Robin will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday
and Thursday at the Ramada Inn. Registration and information
will be available the Lexington Suite, Room 128.
The
Henry Clay debates will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday through Monday.
The
preliminary rounds will be held on campus at the White
Hall Classroom Building. Elimination rounds will run
from 8 a.m. until midnight Monday at the Ramada Inn.
