The
awards of up to $500 can go to faculty and graduate
and undergraduate students.

24, 2002 (Lexington, Ky.) --
Applications are being accepted for the summer and
fall Elsie Bourke Ewing Faculty Grants, which support
research related to service learning at the University
of Kentucky.
The awards
of up to $500 also may be provided to graduate and
undergraduate students conducting research if they
have a faculty sponsor involved in the project.
The deadline
for application is April 29, and recipients will be
announced by May 13.
Applications
should include a short overview of the project, and
a statement of issues, objectives, planned activities,
expected outcomes and a brief budget narrative estimating
the cost of the project. Proposals should be no more
than three pages in length. The Service-Learning Initiatives
Council advisory board will select the recipients
based on the perceived impact of the projects and
its potential for expanding and improving the use
of service-learning at UK.
The award
is sponsored by the UK Service-Learning Initiatives
Council and the Office of Experiential Education.
