20, 2002 (Lexington, Ky.) -- Jayakrishna
Ambati, M.D., assistant professor of ophthalmology,
University of Kentucky College of Medicine, has been
nominated to represent UK in the 2003 Searle Scholars
competition.
The program,
established at the Chicago Community Trust in 1980,
awards grants to selected universities and research
centers to support the research of exceptional young
faculty in chemistry and biomedical sciences. There
are 348 current and former Searle Scholars pursuing
research in the United States, the United Kingdom,
the Netherlands and Australia.
