Feb.
26, 2002 (Lexington, Ky.) --
The Task Force on University of Kentucky Futures:
Faculty for the 21st Century has released its preliminary
recommendations. David Watt, co-chair of the task
force, presented the draft proposals in two forums
on campus Friday, Feb. 22.
The recommendations
presented Friday can be seen on the Futures
Task Force Web site.
The group
is currently accepting comment on those proposals.
Comment may be made through the Web site or by e-mailing
Watt or task force co-chair Eugenia
Toma.
Following
a two-week comment period, the group will meet again
before sending its report to UK President Lee Todd.
Watt expects that process to take several weeks.
In his
presentations Friday Watt emphasized that if President
Todd chose to pursue any of the recommendations, they
would then go through another process of review by
the UK Faculty Senate. The final decision would be
made by the UK Board of Trustees.
