Disease Awareness Day presentation, sponsored by the
Alzheimer's
Disease Research Center at the University of Kentucky
Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, at 7 p.m. Wednesday,
June 19, in the UK Hospital Auditorium.
Topics and speakers will be: "Informed Consent:
What the face tells us in patients with dementia"
by Deborah Danner, Ph.D., assistant professor of preventive
medicine and environmental health. UK College of Medicine;
"Atmospheric nuclear weapons testing and the study
of Alzheimer's disease" by Mark Lovell, Ph.D.,
assistant professor of chemistry at UK, who also has
an appointment in the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging;
and "Can we use the immune system to fight against
Alzheimer's disease?" by Subbarao Bondada, Ph.D.,
professor of microbiology and immunology, UK College
of Medicine.
