Dan
Seaver had held positions in admissions and student
affairs with the Lexington Technical Institute, UK
Admission, UK College of Allied Health Professions
and UK College of Dentistry. He also was assistant
dean of admissions and student affairs and assistant
professor in the Department of Oral Health Science.

A celebration of the life of Dan Seaver, one of the
University of Kentucky's strongest advocates, will
be held at 4:30 p.m. March 15 in Memorial Hall. A
reception will follow in the UK Hilary J. Boone Faculty
Center.
Seaver
passed away after a battle with cancer on February
1. Since 1973, he held positions in admissions and
student affairs with the Lexington Technical Institute,
UK Admission, UK College of Allied Health Professions
and UK College of Dentistry.
In his
position as assistant dean of admissions and student
affairs and assistant professor in the Department
of Oral Health Science, he served on numerous committees
at the UK Chandler Medical Center, the university
and national organizations. He was a strong advocate
for students and UK's chapters of the American Student
Dental Association, Student National Dental Association,
Hispanic Dental Association, Student Research Group
and American Association of Women Dentists.
From 1986
to 2002, Seaver was responsible for admissions and
student affairs in the College of Dentistry. Memorial
contributions are suggested to the Dan Seaver Scholarship
for Outstanding Achievement in Dental School Organizations
and Activities.
