The University of Kentucky College of Social Work
this week will host the conference, "Pipe Dream or
Possibility: Citizen Involvement in Child Protective
Services," May 22-23 at the Sheraton Suites in Lexington.
This conference
will focus on citizen involvement in public child
welfare.
Citizens
review panel coordinators will strategize about ways
to encourage best practices within the panels.
Workshops
will address how citizens review panels can work effectively
with state child protective services systems, the
latest research on citizen involvement in public child
welfare, how to recruit a diverse citizens review
panel, and how to use legislation/advocacy to advance
a panel.
