7, 2002 (Lexington, Ky.) -- A
special screening of "Impresario," a documentary
about the staging of an opera that showcases the talents
of Dr. Everett McCorvey, Kentucky’s famous opera showman,
will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at the
Kentucky Theater.
From the
conquest of Mozart’s masterwork Don Giovanni, to the
beaches of Rio de Janeiro, McCorvey brings the glorious
sound of the operatic voice and the Negro Spiritual
to the world.
The film
is directed by Eren Isabel McGinnis and Ari Luis Palos.
This event
is free and open to the public. A reception featuring
champagne and live music at the Downtown Arts Center
