May
9 , 2002 (Lexington, Ky.) A
new Web-based e-mail service from the University of
Kentucky Office of Student
Financial Aid is making it easier for students to
manage their financial aid.
From
www.uky.edu/FinancialAid/QC/QClist.html,
students can locate and directly e-mail their financial
aid counselors with questions they may have about their
financial aid. Phone numbers also are provided on the
Web page, in case students prefer to speak with the
counselor.
"The
new e-mail service adds another dimension to the level
of service provided to UK students who need some type
of financial assistance to attend the university,"
said Lynda George, director of the Student Aid office.
If
a counselor is unavailable for a few days, questions
e-mailed from the Web site will be forwarded automatically
to an alternate counselor to ensure a timely response,
George said.
To
use the new service, log on to www.uky.edu/FinancialAid/QC/QClist.html,
then locate the appropriate counselor based on the student's
last name. Click on the counselor's name to bring up
an online form, which will need to be filled out with
the relevant information to assist the counselor in
answering the student's question. When finished, click
the submit button to send the message to the counselor.
George noted that the new service is free to all students
and is intended for UK financial aid related questions
only.
