Oct. 8, 2002 (Lexington, Ky.) -- The Cancer Control Program at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center will provide a way to help health professionals, policymakers, researchers and the public quickly access cancer incidence rates.

An information session on the Kentucky Cancer Registry's new Web site will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m.Thursday, Oct. 24, in room 502A UK Health Science Learning Center.

The new site allows users to access cancer incidence rates, along with maps and charts by state, counties, groups of counties and Appalachian/non-Appalachian regions. The rates also can be defined by cancer type, gender and race.

Comprehensive cancer incidence rates for Kentucky are available on the Kentucky Cancer Registry's new Web site. The KCR is the official source for Kentucky cancer incidence statistics.
