During
the two-day event, Lexington's employees along with
employees from 20 Lexington-area Great Clips salons
will donate their time and skills during regular business
hours to participate in the Cut-A-Thon. Great Clips
will contribute a portion of the proceeds from the
haircuts, perms and other services.

15, 2002 (Lexington, Ky.) -- Eight Lexington
Great Clips Salons are hosting a Cut-A-Thon Oct. 25-26
to raise money for University of Kentucky Children's
Hospital.
During the two-day event, Lexington's employees along
with employees from 20 Lexington-area Great Clips
salons will donate their time and skills during regular
business hours to participate in the Cut-A-Thon. Great
Clips will contribute a portion of the proceeds from
the haircuts, perms and other services.
The UK Children's Hospital, the only children's hospital
serving Central and Eastern Kentucky, was established
in 1997. The 65,000-square-foot, $12 million addition
to UK Hospital houses a 44-bed in-patient center;
a 50-bed Level III neonatal nursery organized in a
modular format; a 12-bed state-of-the-art pediatric
intensive care unit; and 11 beds for 23-hour admissions/observation.
Inpatient admissions each year number about 6,000
with about 3,100 non-ICU floor admissions, 600 PICU
admissions, and 800 NICU admissions. Patients are
admitted by pediatrics and its subspecialties, pediatric
surgery and the other surgical subspecialties.
Great Clips salons participating in the fund-raiser
include Berea, Corbin, Danville, Frankfort, Georgetown,
London, Morehead, Mount Sterling, Nicholasville, Richmond,
Somerset, Versailles and Winchester. For more information,
