Throughout
this week, the University of Kentucky has been incorporating
the theme of "making a difference" into
its homecoming activities.

Lexington,
Ky. (Oct. 24, 2002) -- On
Saturday, Oct. 26, people from across the United States
will participate in National Make a Difference Day.
This annual event is the most encompassing national
day of helping others -- a celebration of neighbors
helping neighbors.
Throughout
this week, the University of Kentucky has been incorporating
the theme of "making a difference" into
its homecoming activities.
Several
campus departments have joined forces to sponsor a
campus-wide food drive to benefit God's Pantry, and
student organizations will work on community projects
to make a difference in the neighborhoods that surround
campus.
God's Pantry's food bins have been placed all around
campus in popular areas such as Patterson Office Tower,
the Student Center, White Hall Classroom Building
and UK Hospital.
UK's philanthropic
events surrounding National Make a Difference Day
will culminate during the UK versus Georgia football
game on Oct. 26.
Created
by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make a Difference Day takes
place on the fourth Saturday of every October.
