The
Distinguished Scholars Lecture Series will offer presentations
by several faculty recruited with the Research Challenge
Trust Fund.

3, 2002 (Lexington, Ky.) --
The University of Kentucky Libraries will present
the first in a series of Distinguished Scholars Lectures
for the 2002-03 academic year when Thomas Howard,
director of the Gatton College of Business and Economics
Von Allmen School of Accountancy, speaks at 4 p.m.
Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the William T. Young Library
Gallery.
Howard
will discuss "Financial Statement Analysis for
Novices," a particularly timely topic in an era
when corporate financial statements have become the
topic of public suspicion and official scrutiny.
The Distinguished
Scholars Lecture Series will offer presentations by
several faculty recruited with the Research Challenge
Trust Fund.
Other speakers
this fall are Kozo Saito, director of the Painting
Technology Consortium in the UK Center for Robotics
and Manufacturing Systems, Oct. 1; Greg A. Gerhardt,
professor of neurobiology and anatomy, UK College
of Medicine, Oct. 15; Tom Dillehay, professor of anthropology,
UK College of Arts and Sciences, Oct. 29; and Dayna
Matthew, associate professor of law, UK College of
Law, Nov. 12.
All lectures
will begin at 4 p.m. and are open to the public.
