August 27, 2003 (Lexington, Ky.) -- The University of Kentucky Hilary J. Boone Center has planned a “Cardinal Roast” tailgate party to kick off the 2003 football season against in-state rival, the Louisville Cardinals.
The party, scheduled from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, at the Boone Center, 510 Rose St., will include the obvious “grilled bird,” “Cardinal wings,” “fried birds,” and other cat-scratching entrees.
Other festivities include some pre-game, kickoff door prizes, best-dressed UK fan contest, and a disc jockey playing the UK fight song and other tunes.
The event is open to members, their guests, and all Wildcat fans. Reservations are $12.50 per person and can be made by calling the Boone Center at (859) 257-4136.
