May 21, 2003 (Lexington, Ky.) -- Two new members of the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees have been named, replacing two members whose terms have expired.

The new members are UK benefactor James F. Hardymon of Lexington and Phillip R. Patton, of Glasgow, who is circuit judge for Barren and Metcalfe counties.

They replace Grady Stumbo of Hindman, Ky., and former Ashland, Inc. chairman and CEO Paul Chellgren of Covington, Ky.

Hardymon previously served on the UK board from 1993 to 1999. The James F. Hardymon Building at the corner of Rose and Maxwell streets was named for the new board member.
