Liam Teague with Panoramic, the band he co-founded

Liam Teague has been hailed as the "Paganini of Pans" and a "certified virtuoso," by the Chicago Sun-Times. His playing as soloist with a symphony orchestra has led to performances in Europe, Asia, North America, and the Caribbean. Recognized as a prodigy in his native Trinidad, he is a three-time winner of the National Solo Pan Competition.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 12, 2003) -- Steelpan virtuoso Liam Teague with Panoramic, the band he co-founded, will perform in the Recital Hall of the University of Kentucky Singletary Center for the Arts at
8 p.m. Sunday, November 16.
Panoramic combines intricate original compositions and intense improvisations with calypso, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, and even East Indian rhythms. With co-founder Robert Chappell, piano, marimba, and tabla; Orlando Cotto, congas and marimba; Doug Stone, saxophone; Phil Beale, drum set; and Josh Ramos, bass, Panoramic pays tribute to its members' Caribbean heritage while seamlessly integrating the band's musical experiences in jazz, classical and world genres into a unified whole.
