Jarrett, who died in October 2002 at age 13 after an 11-year battle with cancer, was well known for his efforts to help ease the anxiety of other children who require extensive medical treatment and hospitalization. Before he died, Jarrett shared with his mother some final wishes, one of which was to help raise awareness of the need for fund-raising efforts for the expansion of the UK Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic.
