LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 18, 2003) -- The University of Kentucky Board of Trustees today named Angela S. Martin of Winchester, Ky., as the university’s new vice president for planning, budget and policy analysis.
Martin’s duties include coordinating the development of the university’s strategic plan, operating budget, capital plans, and the analysis of university administrative policies.
She will also coordinate institutional reporting of financial and budgetary information to external constituencies such as the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education and the Kentucky Legislative Research Commission.
Martin has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with an accounting option from the University of Louisville and a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati. She is a certified public accountant.
Her first public auditing job was in the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet where she served from 1982 to 1984 as a senior revenue field auditor. From 1984 to 1989, she was chief public utility financial analyst with the Kentucky Public Service Commission.
Martin’s early experience in academics was with the Morehead State University where she began in the internal audit division and rose to be assistant vice president for planning and budgets. She also taught at Morehead as an adjunct faculty member.
From 2000 until 2002, Martin served as vice president for finance for the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education in Frankfort.
