Tri for Sight to Benefit Eye Research

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 5, 2003) -- Calling all triathletes! The Tri for Sight committee, a group of Lexington area athletes, University of Kentucky ophthalmologists, ophthalmology staff, and other volunteers soon will hold Tri for Sight, an annual triathlon, to benefit the UK Eye Research Fund. The event includes an 800-meter swim, a 20-mile bike ride, and a 4-mile run. It will be held at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, September 21, beginning at the UK Lancaster Aquatic Center at the corner of Complex and University Drive. Both individuals and teams, from ages 15 to 75 and up, are eligible to register. An expo and award ceremony will be held after the race.
