LEXINGTON,
Ky. (August 3, 2004) -- The University
of Kentucky Art Museum’s monthly
Art at Noon series presents Peter Kucirko, Lexington
Philharmonic’s executive director, at noon
Wednesday, Aug. 4, in the museum’s galleries.
He will discuss his experience in art collecting.
Art at Noon is free and open to the public.
Kucirko holds a Master of Music degree from Temple
University and both a Bachelor of Music and Artist’s
Diploma from the New School of Music in Philadelphia
. He has served as executive consultant to Peter
Nero & the Philly Pops for restructuring and
financial planning, executive director of the Reading
Symphony, and general manager of the Pennsylvania
Pro Musica. He has been a board member of Citizens
for the Arts in Pennsylvania , Strings for Schools
( Philadelphia ), and has served on the Capital Campaign
Committee for Berks Community Television and the
Grants Review Panel for the Pennsylvania Council
on the Arts. In addition to participating in the
creation and negotiation of collective bargaining
agreements for national musical arts groups, he has
served as a sole binding arbitrator for labor/management
disputes.
The University of Kentucky Art Museum, located
on the corner of Rose Street and Euclid Avenue, is
open noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and noon
to 8 p.m. on Friday; closed Monday and university
