LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 25, 2004) -- The University of Kentucky Office for Multicultural and Academic Affairs will hold a one-day program of workshops designed to help develop leadership skills. The program is slated from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at the UK Student Center.

The Future Leaders Organizational Workshops will offer training on parliamentary procedures, building successful organizations, cross-cultural collaboration, and stretching budgets, among other issues.

Presenters will include Shirley Bowles of the University of Mississippi, Lisa Brown of the UK College of Communications and Information Studies, Frank X. Walker of Eastern Kentucky University, and Karen Slaymaker of UK’s Office of International Affairs.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with a $5 fee. The workshop sessions will be held in rooms 206, 357 and 359 of the Student Center.
