Free Smoking Cessation Program Offered

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 23, 2004) -- The Multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Program at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center is offering a free smoking cessation program beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, on the first floor of the Whitney-Hendrickson Building, located on campus near the Markey Cancer Center.

The Cooper/Clayton Smoking Cessation program is a 12-week, group support program that uses research-based methods to help people stop smoking. Participants will learn how to pick a nicotine replacement product best suited for them and also will learn important relapse prevention strategies, stress management techniques, and healthy lifestyle information.
