LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 3, 2004) -- The History News Network has just published an article about James Madison and the Bill of Rights written by Richard Labunski, a professor in the University of Kentucky School of Journalism and Telecommunications.

The History News Network, a Web site created in June 2001, features articles by historians about current events. Labunski is writing a book – his fifth – about the key role that James Madison played in writing the Bill of Rights and in persuading members of the First Congress to forward it to the states for ratification.

Labunski, who has a doctorate in political science from the University of California and a doctorate of law from Seattle University School of Law, has been a member of the UK faculty since 1995. He previously taught at the University of Washington and Penn State.
