from the UK Theatre Department play “Come Back
to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean”

The
play is a comedy-drama that focuses on a James
Dean fan club and its 20-year reunion at a dime
store in McCarthy, Texas. The character, Mona,
who appeared briefly in James Dean's movie “Giant,” shares
an incredible story about her time on the set and
her brush with stardom. Audiences follow the lives
of eight incredible women from the club’s
initiation in 1955 to its emotional reunion in
1975.

LEXINGTON,
Ky. (Feb. 20, 2004) -- “Come
Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean,” written
by Ed Graczyk, continues the University
of Kentucky theatre department's 2003-2004
season with performances Feb. 19-21 and Feb.
26-29 in the Guignol Theatre.
Show
times are 8 p.m. for evening performances and 2
p.m. for matinees. Ticket prices are $12 for the
general public, $10 for UK faculty and staff, and
$8 for students and senior citizens. Tickets may
be purchased at the Singletary Center Ticket Office

a contemporary comedy with great roles for women," said
director Russell Henderson, who chose this play
because it “addresses a lot of contemporary
issues in an interesting way."
