Arrest Made in Sexual Assault Case

UK Police made the arrest with the assistance of the Kentucky State Police and the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 30, 2004) -- University of Kentucky Police have arrested a man in McCreary County in the case of a sexual assault that reportedly occurred in Parking Structure #4 at the UK Hospital on the morning of July 24.

Daniel K. Bone, 25, of Pine Knot was arrested last night and charged with rape in the first degree. He turned himself in to authorities at approximately 11:30 p.m. about one mile inside the Kentucky-Tennessee border and was taken to the McCreary County Jail. He is being transported to Lexington today where a search warrant has been issued to collect body fluid and hair samples.

UK Police made the arrest with the assistance of the Kentucky State Police and the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office.

A female visitor to UK Hospital reported that she had been sexually assaulted sometime between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24. Information provided by the victim and visitors to the hospital at that time led to the identification of Bone as a suspect. According to UK Police, Bone was a visitor to the hospital on July 24 as well.
