LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 30, 2004) -- University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy faculty members Frank Romanelli, Pharm.D., assistant professor, and Kelly Smith, Pharm.D., associate professor, were selected as winners of the 2004 American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Council of Faculties Innovations in Teaching Competition. They will present , "Development and Implementation of a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Certificate Program for Pharmacy Residents," at the 2004 AACP annual meeting in July.

Romanelli, who also holds a joint appointment as assistant professor of physician assistant studies, UK College of Health Sciences, maintains an active practice within the UK Infectious Disease Clinic.

Smith is director of the UK Drug Information Center and director of the UK Pharmacy Practice Residency Program.
