LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 7, 2004) -- The University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics, in conjunction with the UK Athletics Department and Host Communications Inc., will host the seventh annual UK Sports Marketing Academy May 10-13 in the Gatton College.

The academy, which provides attendees with a competitive advantage by covering topics such as effective sports marketing principals, is the first professional certification program of its kind in the field of sports marketing.

“The unique partnership between these three organizations results in a first-rate certification program, with instruction provided by leading sports marketing academicians and practitioners,” said Scott Kelley, professor of marketing in the Gatton College and director of the academy.
