UK, Cinergy to Sponsor Coal Conference

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 8, 2004) -- The University of Kentucky and Cinergy Corp. are sponsoring a major conference on the future of coal, highlighting the major environmental, economic and technology issues associated with its use.

Coal 2020 - Burning Questions will be held Oct. 12 and 13 at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort in Lexington, Ky. Featured speakers include Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher, Kentucky Public Service Commission Chairman Mark David Goss, Cambridge Energy Research Associates Chairman Daniel Yergin, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Assistant Administrator Jeffrey Holmstead, and executives of the major coal producers in the region. The conference will be hosted by UK President Lee T. Todd Jr. and Cinergy Chairman, President and CEO James E. Rogers and is sponsored in part by Eastman Chemical Company. (more)
