LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 7, 2004) -- University of Kentucky Hospital Associate Director of Finance Ronda Beck recently passed the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) examination to become a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional with a specialty in accounting and finance.

Less than 3 percent of HFMA members earn the certification, which requires that candidates demonstrate mastery of management, accounting, information systems, and the health care industry in general. Candidates also must meet requirements in the areas of education, experience and professional involvement. Beck currently is appointed as a project team member on the financial and materials management teams of the UK Integrated Resource Information Systems (IRIS) project.
