Art Museum’s ‘Girls’ Night Out’ Sept. 16

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 9, 2004) -- The University of Kentucky Art Museum and WUKY-FM, the UK public radio station, present “Girls' Night Out 2004” from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 16 in the UK Art Museum galleries.

This joint fund-raiser benefits the UK Art Museum and WUKY.

“Last year’s ’ Girls’ Night Out’ was energizing and exciting,” said Kathy Walsh-Piper, museum director. “This event is a great chance to explore creative interests.” Tickets include admission to the special exhibition “Opening the Gates of Consciousness: Art Nouveau Glass and Pottery,” food by Wild Oats, live music by Carla VanHoose and Mother Jane, and booths that appeal to women, such as exercise, hair demonstrations, horoscopes, makeup, and massages.

Participants must be 21 or over. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. To order tickets, call (859) 257-3221.
