LEXINGTON,
Ky. (Sept. 17, 2004) -- America’s
premier jazz quartet – Yellowjackets
– will be in concert in the University of Kentucky
Singletary Center for the Arts at 8 p.m. Sept. 29.
The group last appeared at UK in September 1987 as
part of the UK Spotlight Jazz Series.
Yellowjackets has 21 albums and many
solo albums by its individual members, including saxophonist
Bob Mintzer, bassist Jimmy Haslip, keyboardist Russell
Ferrante, and drummer Marcus Baylor.
In addition to the evening concert,
members of the group will work with UK School of Music
students in clinics during the day.
Tickets are $15-$20 for general admission
and $10-$15 for students, depending on seat selection.
