LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 21, 2004) -- Terry Mobley, who has served 28 years as chief development officer for the University of Kentucky and is currently vice president for development, today was named vice president of a new UK Office of Institutional Advancement.
Mobley’s appointment, approved by the UK Board of Trustees, places him at the head of a unit encompassing the offices of Development, Alumni Affairs and External Affairs. The Office of External Affairs includes public relations and government and community relations.
Mobley, a native of Harrodsburg, Ky., graduated from UK in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He was a UK Wildcat basketball player from 1961 to 1965.
UK President Lee T. Todd Jr. said that combining the development, alumni affairs and external affairs functions into one office provides “enormous opportunity to build in the synergy of these three groups as we work to enhance our development efforts and strengthen our partnerships throughout the Commonwealth and beyond.”
The appointment to the new position was effective Sept. 4.
