LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 9, 2005) --The University of Kentucky Sanders-Brown Center on Aging will hold a one-day educational conference, “Alzheimer’s Care: It Takes a Team,” from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Friday, March 4, at the Sheraton Suites, 2601 Richmond Road, Lexington. Co-sponsored by the Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana chapters of the Alzheimer’s Association, the conference will explain the role of team members during the diagnosis, treatment, and care of those with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Health professionals, family caregivers, and persons interested in learning more about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias may attend. Speakers are Dr. Greg Cooper, assistant professor, UK Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, and Mary Guerriero Austrom, Ph.D., Education/Information Core Leader, Indiana University School of Medicine, Indiana Alzheimer’s Disease Center. Pre-registration is required due to limited capacity. Continuing education credit will be offered to nurses, social workers, counselors, and nursing home administrators.
