LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 14, 2005) -- The Ohio Valley Affiliates for Life Sciences (OVALS) will hold its annual conference on business opportunities of biotechnology and other life sciences at the Dayton Marriott Hotel in Dayton, Ohio, on Monday and Tuesday, March 7 and 8.
The conference will feature presentations on current trends and future prospects for life sciences-based industries such as pharmaceuticals, how researchers can spot potential products attractive to industry and investors, and other topics.
Among the speakers will be Dan Berglund, executive director of Ohio’s Science and Technology Institute; Barry L. Farmer, chair of the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory Aerospace Biotechnology Working Group; and Dean Harvey, director of the Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Kentucky.
OVALS is a collaboration between academic and economic development organizations in the Ohio Valley to promote the development and growth of biotechnology businesses and industries in the Midwest; to facilitate collaboration between research institutions, industry and federal labs; and to increase visibility of regional life science.
