Ada Sue Selwitz

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 3, 2005) -- Ada Sue Selwitz, director of the University of Kentucky’s Office of Research Integrity, has been named to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Human Research Protection (SACHRP).

Selwitz, who has been involved in oversight of human research subject issues for nearly 30 years, has worked at UK since 1978. In her current position, she develops institutional policies pertaining to compliance issues including protection of human subjects, scientific misconduct, humane care and use of animals, and data retention.

Selwitz was a member of an information panel on a section of federal policy on protecting human subjects in clinical trials in October.
